


Chalmette Refining was a Joint Venture between ExxonMobil and PDVSA.Ĭhuy returned to Houston, in 2013, as the Americas Engineering Manager for EMPCo, ExxonMobil Pipeline Company coordinating Engineering activities for Fuels and Lubes Midstream operations across the Americas. Chuy relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana in 2008 where he became the Technical Manager at the Chalmette Refinery. The project installed a 3P Hydrogen Plant and included plans to build hydrofining and sulfur recovery plants at Campana. And in 2006, Chuy was named Argentina Clean Fuels Project Executive. Four years later, he became the Process Division Manager at Campana. In 1999, Chuy relocated to Buenos Aires, Argentina as the Technical Division Manager for the Esso Campana Refinery. After two years, he moved to Latin America Planning developing an FCCU Upgrade Project for the Campana Refinery in Argentina. In 1996, he was transferred to Exxon Company International in Miami and became the Supply Coordinator for the Central American refineries in El Salvador and Nicaragua. Three years later, Chuy transferred to Exxon USA in Houston in an Operation’s Support role where he worked with refineries across the US circuit. After holding various Technical and Operations roles, Chuy was transferred to the Baytown Refinery in 1991 where he served as Technical and Coordination Supervisor. He joined Exxon’s Baton Rouge Refinery in Louisiana, USA as a Project Engineer in 1985. A native of El Paso, Texas, Chuy received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981.
